The premise

Here’s the bit.

At a restaurant reunion, Christopher is greeted by a clan of relatives who all share his stiff hair and halting delivery. He is welcomed with big hugs, shown the cousins' children, offers puzzling advice to a sullen teenager and a doll-clutching girl, and learns that one relative has recently come out and is thriving. A Nigerian exchange student who has adopted the family's speech patterns adds to the strangeness, and the gathering winds down with a pun about not driving home.
