Dot: America's First Thanksgiving
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
A principal welcomes families to the third graders' annual "America's First Thanksgiving" pageant, staged with help from the children's parents. While a pilgrim narrator reads the story, Myles Standish greets Pocahontas and a costumed turkey gobbles, but Dot, dressed as an ear of corn, abandons the script as soon as she gets the spotlight. She introduces the pilgrim playing Standish as her father and cheerfully reveals his AA sponsor, his online alter egos and the cruel nickname his co-workers gave him, while he struggles to steer her back to the play. Her outbursts keep escalating, from calling her father a liar to warning the cast that they are the dinner, until she tackles the turkey and her dad dives on top of her as the curtain closes.

Highly quotable.
I hope I don't get stuck in your teeth when you eat me.
He's doing the play because his AA sponsor told him to.
You guys, we're not dinner guests. We are the dinner.

Notes from the archive.
Dot Goddard, the overlooked twin sister of child genius Karen Goddard, was one of Stephnie Weir's recurring MADtv characters; Michael McDonald and Mo Collins played her parents.
