The premise

Here’s the bit.

Jeff, a 52-year-old former NBA referee, joins the reality competition Making Friends thinking it is simply a place to meet people. His fellow contestants, each captioned by name, age and ethnicity, recite the genre's favourite boast that they are only there to win, prompting the upbeat host to point out that making friends is the entire point of the show. Jeff happily introduces himself to everyone, but the host's offers of a point, then a lunch, then a million dollars for anyone willing to befriend him are all turned down. Voted off first, Jeff packs his suitcase and wheels it out of the villa, insisting he has made friends for a lifetime.

Highly quotable.

Making friends is the name of this show.

I didn't even know this was a competition. Just saw a sign for making friends and thought that would be cool.

Even though I got voted off first, I feel like I made friends for a lifetime.

A little extra
