The premise

A television finale, a new thriller and the outcome of a game are all off limits, and the forbidden list soon stretches to the weekend weather forecast and even the ingredients of the casserole. When cheesecake finally offers a safe distraction, a throwaway remark about mortality is treated as the ultimate spoiler and the evening ends in a huff.
