A Cappella

A college a cappella rehearsal welcomes a new singer, whose high notes immediately win over the group. The member who had enjoyed being its lone Black performer watches the attention shift. Once the others leave, the two drop their cheerful manners and confront one another over who belongs. A later improv class turns the same competition into a new battle for the room’s approval.
