The Invitation
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
Sue turns up unannounced on a friend's porch after dark, insisting she was only passing and just wanted to say hello. Her friend, speaking like her in a Jamaican accent, keeps urging her inside, and Sue keeps refusing with ever more elaborate modesty: she would be an intrusion, she is a mess after walking fifty miles with no bus fare, and her friend's life is better off without her. The host escalates her hospitality, tempting Sue with the smell of fried dumplings, ackee and saltfish, until in exasperation she formally invites her guest into the house. Sue steps over the threshold, lets out a hiss and sinks her fangs into her host's neck; all that courtesy was a vampire angling for an invitation.

Highly quotable.
There is a seat in this house with your name on it, girl.
I didn't have money for the bus. I'm a mess from the 50-mile walk.
That's it, Sue! I'm formally inviting you into my home.
