You're tuned to the good stuff
Guru Bohemian Rhapsody
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
At his first symposium on the higher consciousness, the Guru Maharishi Yogi greets a small circle of earnest Western seekers, happily confirms their belief that Indians are more spiritually in tune than everyone else, and explains that gurus pass on their wisdom through ancient Sanskrit chants, rather like Christian hymns but catchier. He then performs the story of the demon and the mongoose, the moral dilemma of a young man confessing a terrible crime to his mother, pausing between verses to translate and to speculate with great seriousness about what kind of pistol was used, until his reverent translation reveals the sacred text to be Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody.
The funny people
Meet the cast. 1
Say it with us
Highly quotable.
Tonight's lecture will be delivered by his most serene calmness, the Guru Maharishi Yogi, which is me.
Well, we are. So well done all those people who said that.
But I would interpret that it is a small gun, possibly a .22 or a Saturday night special.
