Wrap It Up Box

A VERY GOOD USE OF YOUR TIME.

The setup

The premise

Here’s the bit.

Borrowing the way award winners get played off when their speeches run long, this mock commercial introduces the Wrap It Up Box, a portable speaker with a glowing sign and a red button. A man stuck listening to his date's meandering story about choosing a college silences her with the box's swelling music. In a courtroom, a defendant uses it to cut the judge off before sentencing, then threatens anyone who keeps talking. Finally the box is turned on Dave himself: in bed, his boastful lovemaking drags on long past his partner's patience until she produces the box and points at its sign.

A little extra

Notes from the archive.

The voice-over introduces the box as coming from the makers of the Home Stenographer, a fake product advertised in the show's first episode.
