Funeral Ball
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
As a grieving widow delivers a tearful eulogy for Claudatious, the late man's brother declares the service far too sad and transforms the church into the Funeral Ball. Under his commentary, guests walk the floor in categories built on funeral cliches: the uninvited soloist who cannot hold a note, the stranger who only came for the repast food, the relative who arrives in his gang colors and a fierce grandmother on a mobility scooter, while a panel of choir-robed judges holds up scores. The grand finale, for secret lives and secret wives, brings out the deceased's other woman and a line of look-alike children, sends the widow into a theatrical faint and ends with a will reveal that leaves the secret family out.
