An apologetic teacher faces the studio audience as his class, with Mr Lewis sitting nearby to observe. Nobody has prepared the reading, volunteers for a part or answers his questions, but he keeps treating the silence as a reasonable choice. After correcting an insult on the blackboard, he reads both parts of Romeo and Juliet himself and tries to start a discussion about its relevance. Each attempt leaves him less confident, until he apologizes for getting in the way and asks whether anyone wants him to stay.
