I got a robe.
I'm going to make us breakfast in my brand new robe, which I love so much. It's really soft and...oh, it's on sale.
I burned my hand on the oven but I didn't even scream, cus I keep the pain inside of me!

In this musical pretape, a family enthusiastically raps about their Christmas morning haul in a style reminiscent of a generic Old Navy commercial. The dad, son, and daughter each show off multiple expensive gifts including a telescope, drum set, new phone, Hulk Hands, and more. Meanwhile, the mom (Kristen Wiig) repeatedly mentions her single gift - a robe that's on sale for 40% off. As the family continues to celebrate their bounty, the mom's forced cheerfulness gives way to quiet indignation, perfectly showcasing Wiig's deadpan delivery. The sketch reaches peak absurdity when even the family dog receives multiple presents, including his own tiny robe. The piece brilliantly captures the reality that mothers often do all the holiday work - shopping, wrapping, decorating, cooking - only to be overlooked when it comes to receiving gifts themselves. The mom even mentions burning her hand on the oven "but I didn't even scream, cus I keep the pain inside of me!"

This pretape format sketch was designed to be relatable, particularly resonating with mothers. Chloe Fineman's dog Peach was a last-minute addition to the sketch when the scheduled dog handler was out sick with COVID-19. Peach was only a few months old at the time of filming (Fineman had announced his adoption in late November 2020). The sketch uses a generic musical style similar to retail commercials. Fineman mentioned in a 2024 interview that they used peanut butter all over the set to get Peach to perform his "dog acting". The sketch received over 12.5 million views on YouTube. The piece is considered one of the highlights of Season 46. Features a cute bumper shot of Peach eating the SNL logo.
