The premise
Here’s the bit.
Promoting The Pillgrums, Glen Tennis introduces a supposedly advanced video cube. A colorful instructional diagram reveals that watching it requires connecting the cube to a modified VHS tape and putting that tape into another Cinco machine. Grum admires the resulting image while the pair celebrate a system that makes home viewing needlessly complicated.
