The premise

Here’s the bit.

Standing in front of a pile of trash bags beside a bakery, a filthy homeless man and his equally filthy wife and son take turns yelling at the camera about their fall from apartment life, from lost jobs and bugs in their hair to a disgusting hand-washing routine. The man explains that someone failed to bow when a holy ruler rode by, and now his eldest son must grovel at an upcoming day of debasement to win their home back. When a polite worker from the shop next door asks him to quiet down before opening, the man insists he is addressing the cameras and keeps raving until the worker threatens to release the dog. A wider view reveals there are no cameras and no wife or son, only a confused little girl, and the worker calls the police when the man comes back with her.

Highly quotable.

Hello! My family and I live in garbage!

The kids at school won't talk to me because I have bugs in my hair! They call me Bugs Hair!

I'm talking to the cameras!

A little extra

Notes from the archive.

In the troupe's 2021 WKUK Talk About commentary, the members recalled that the girl who played the daughter was so young she had to be coaxed through filming and did not understand what the cameras were for.
