The premise

Here’s the bit.

A news reporter stands on a beach, supposedly in Melbourne, Australia, reporting on the weather over the Pacific Ocean. He is repeatedly interrupted by bizarre characters, including a man standing behind him, a 'small Lone Ranger', and another man who runs up and yells 'BILL!'. The sketch is a surreal and absurdist take on a typical news report. The humor comes from the deadpan delivery of the reporter in the face of increasingly strange events and the geographical inaccuracy of the report.
