The premise

Here’s the bit.

Called to defend his conduct aboard Flight 138, a haunted defendant insists that nobody who wasn't there can judge what a desperate person does to stay alive. The prosecutor punctures the tragedy: the plane never left the runway, the ordeal was a short delay, and the defendant still managed to sample more than a hundred passengers instead of choosing just one. Pleading inexperience, he explains he kept hoping the next person would taste better, which only nudges the despondent judge into confessing his own troubles at home.

Highly quotable.

You are the sole survivor of a 35-minute delay.

I simply tasted a little of each in hopes that the next one would taste better.

A little extra

Notes from the archive.

The sketch was the cold open of season 4, episode 14, and it was rerun in a later compilation episode.

The rabbit hole continues

One more couldn’t hurt.
