Mrs. Wiggins: Buzz Off
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
A handyman finishes wiring Mr. Tudball's office door so that it opens only when a button under Mrs. Wiggins' desk is pressed. Tudball explains that nobody gets in without one of the new security badges, but Wiggins promptly walks into the locked door, and when he plays a door-to-door encyclopedia salesman to test her, she buzzes the badge-less visitor straight through because she heard Mr. Tudball invite him in. Once he finally drills the rule into her, she refuses to let Tudball into his own office, since his badge is inside. He sends her out for coffee and climbs out onto the building's ledge to get his badge by way of the window; Wiggins returns to an empty office, writes him a note saying she has gone shopping and then to lunch, and leaves just as a windswept, battered Tudball reappears at the window.
