The premise
Here’s the bit.
Willy returns from work shaken and reaches for a drink while Ruth tries to discover what has happened to her once-confident exterminator husband. His accounts of fleeing from pests and depending on an elderly customer for protection only deepen his humiliation. After a stern pep talk fails, Ruth pretends a black widow is threatening her in the kitchen. Willy finally springs into action, then learns how she engineered his triumph and leaves eager to reclaim his reputation.
