A spoof advert opens with a mother obsessively wiping the kitchen while her young son eats beside her. The voice-over treats ordinary dirt as a catastrophic danger, showing the child apparently exploding when contamination gets near him, then repeatedly hedging its claims. Cleanlinol is presented as protection from every conceivable threat, including perfectly ordinary fresh air. The promise of a healthy childhood becomes increasingly ridiculous as the mother encases her son in an enormous disinfectant bottle and wheels him around outdoors. The advert ends by placing the product beside a similarly named religious alternative, completing its parody of fear-driven household advertising.
