The premise

Here’s the bit.

In this call-back to Barry Crisp's Kids Rapids Ride, Barry and the father return to the footbridge above the weir with the boy, now sitting in a rubber ring and holding an oar. The two men hoist him onto the railing, Barry counts him off, and they tip him over into the white water below. Afterwards they lean contentedly on the rail, and Barry offers a mild verdict that the boy's nerves seem to have got the better of him. The scene closes the episode, playing under its end credits.
