Scared Straight

Officer Sikorsky (Jason Sudeikis) brings in ex-convicts McIntosh (Kenan Thompson), 'All the Way' Ray May (Eddie Murphy), and Big Red (Will Ferrell) to scare three juvenile shoplifters (Marcello Hernandez, Mikey Day, Michael Longfellow). The convicts confuse the teens with conflicting commands, then try to intimidate them with life stories that closely mirror Harry Potter, The Nutty Professor, and Elf. The teens keep pointing out the obvious movie references and get roughed up for it. Will Ferrell's Big Red ultimately undermines the whole message by insisting prison is 'actually really fun.'

This is a revival of a recurring SNL sketch that originally ran from 2008-2012, revived for the SNL 50th anniversary special. Previous cast appearances included Taylor Swift, Betty White, Lindsay Lohan, Zach Galifianakis, and Paul Rudd. The sketch has over 12 million views on YouTube. Kenan Thompson notably struggled to keep a straight face throughout the sketch opposite Murphy and Ferrell.
