The premise

Here’s the bit.

A couple and a priest hover over their possessed daughter Claire, unable to start the exorcism until a second priest arrives. The commotion brings down Mrs. Shaw, the upstairs neighbor in a nightgown and hair rollers, who is furious about the noise on a weeknight and volunteers to drive the demon out so she can get back to bed. Citing years of holding back traffic as a school crossing guard, she shrugs off the demon's insults, out-trash-talks it and scolds the levitating girl into behaving. When the parents say the expelled spirit needs a new host, she volunteers her husband Frank, summoning him from upstairs and bribing him into cooperating. Claire wakes up cured, the grateful family thanks the Shaws, and Frank is left to carry the demon home, his head spinning around as they leave.

Say it with us

Highly quotable.

Yesterday, a third grader called me a used-up skank. What else you got?

And little girl, your ass better not be levitating back there.

Waking my ass up at 9 p.m. in the middle of the night?

The rabbit hole continues

One more couldn’t hurt.
