In the first installment of the recurring sketch, Barry and Robin Gibb open their talk show beneath a disco ball, harmonizing a Bee Gees-style theme song about discussing the issues of the day. Barry promises a no-nonsense program, then asks his guests about the California recall election only to explode at each of them: he mocks Arianna Huffington's voice, warns author Al Franken that he grew up tough on the streets of Sydney and won't tolerate smart talk, and turns on Lieutenant Governor Cruz Bustamante for saying the Bee Gees were once the greatest band. Each rant slides into falsetto mid-sentence, and whenever Barry turns to Robin for comment, his brother quietly says he has nothing to add. Barry finally threatens to bury Bustamante in a song that Robin joins, then regains his composure and the brothers close the show singing about chest hair and medallions, with Robin visibly struggling not to laugh.
