The setup
The premise
In the show's writers' room, David Mitchell reads out a warning from Channel 4's lawyer about what they may not call Russell Brand. The writers twist themselves into knots trying to be fair to him, drift on to the state of the River Thames and Thames Water, and are censored again. Convinced the channel must be listening, they decide it is watching them even in the toilets, which brings yet another email from the lawyer and an unexpectedly personal reply.
