The premise

Here’s the bit.

Staff writer Steven Cragg is caught flirting with a young woman on a soundstage, then gleefully reveals that he scripted the whole scene himself, crowns himself ruler of the show and announces a sketch he co-wrote that the producers turned down. His black-and-white horror short follows a house full of shambling zombies throwing a party, complete with a cake made of brains. When the footage cuts back to colour, a furious executive barges onto the set to shut the unapproved shoot down, but a zombie-faced Cragg refuses to back down until the picture gives way to colour bars.

Say it with us

Highly quotable.

I'm a married man, and that is not my wife.

See, I wrote this whole thing.

I never approved the zombie sketch. I hate the zombie sketch.

A little extra

Notes from the archive.

Steven Cragg says on camera that he wrote the sketch with fellow Mad TV writer Rich Talarico. Ashley Greene, later known as Alice Cullen in the Twilight films, plays Amber in the opening scene.
