Drones
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
Styled as a rousing military-film trailer, the sketch follows Nick Kroll's drone pilot through life at a suburban Unmanned Drone Control Center, where a stern captain warns the new recruits that remote warfare will strain their bodies, minds and families. Between booming slogans and stock combat imagery, the pilots' trials turn out to be office trivia: gossip about a colleague's vacated comfy chair, a dispute over donuts, a carpal-tunnel visit to the new occupational therapist, and a frantic radio-guided coffee run while a soldier in the field pleads for an air strike. The trailer builds to the pilot facing an on-screen prompt asking whether to drop a bomb, then closes on him casually chatting about a Cirque du Soleil show.
