The premise

Here’s the bit.

Closing the Horrible Histories Halloween special at number one on his countdown of scary things, Death sings his own spooky version of My Favorite Things. Starting at his mum's chintzy suburban home, he dismisses fluffy, sweet comforts in favour of disease, bodily grossness and the grisliest moments of the past, which flash up on an old television set as clips from earlier episodes. The number moves out to a fog-filled graveyard, where a troupe of zombies joins him for a Thriller-style dance routine before he cackles his way to the finish.

A little extra

Notes from the archive.

Death's Favourite Things was the only new song in the Scary Special, a Halloween episode first shown on October 29, 2012, in which Death presented his top twelve scary things using sketches and songs from earlier series. The song was written by Greg Jenner, the series' historical consultant.
