All-Purpose Ancient Egyptian Mummy
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
Horrible Histories' bellowing advert presenter, Shouty Man, sets up shop among stacks of bandaged bodies in nineteenth-century Egypt, where mummies are being unearthed by the cartload. In the manner of a hard-sell TV commercial, he demonstrates three uses for the remains: grinding them into powder to patch cracked walls in a choice of dreary off-whites, tossing limbs on the fire as fuel, and smearing the dust over a glum customer's face as a cure-all. Captions between the demonstrations insist that people really did use mummies for paint, fuel and medicine, and the ad ends by recommending one as a gift that arrives already wrapped.

The second instalment of Horrible Histories' recurring Shouty Man advert parodies, in which Jim Howick's pitchman changes costume to sell products from a different period of history.
