Waking Up on the Wrong Side of the Bed

A man in striped pyjamas climbs out of bed and lands his bare foot in a box of rusty nails. His short walk then turns into a gauntlet of ever more absurd hazards, from a blow to the head, a mantrap and barbed wire to quicksand, an indoor landmine and a rolling boulder, until a fall from a high window drops him into a skip reserved for the foulest rubbish. Battered and filthy, he surfaces to give a weary verdict on the day ahead.
