Old Gits in Hospital
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
Alf Git lies in a hospital bed while Fred sits beside him, cheerfully assuring him he will not last the night. Fred reads the plunging line on Alf's chart as a ski slope, complains that Alf's survival has cost him a bet and an already-printed death notice, and warns him that the devil is waiting below. When a frightened Alf begs to be spared, Fred reminds him of the cruel pranks the two of them committed over the years, then fiddles with the bedside equipment and loudly calls for help.
The funny people

Say it with us
Highly quotable.
Stick a couple of flagpoles on that, you could bung it out on Ski Sunday.
I put a bet on at 5 to 1 at Ladbrokes two days ago that you'd be gone. I've lost 50 quid.
Too late, the Grim Reaper's on his way.
A little extra
Notes from the archive.
The Old Gits first appeared in Harry Enfield's Television Programme. When they returned in Harry Enfield and Chums, the pair's first names were swapped, so Harry Enfield's Git became Alf and Paul Whitehouse's became Fred.

One more couldn’t hurt.
