Tim Nice But Balding in the Dragons' Den
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
Tim Nice But Balding and Charlie Slick But Thick pitch a scheme in which a piece of paper becomes more valuable each time they sell it to one another. Their shaky arithmetic does little to deter the Dragons once the pair explain how a bank and the taxpayer will eventually cover the cost. Several investors overlook stupidity, nepotism and personal disgust for a chance to profit, while the closing interview finds the financiers confidently dismissing the prospect of another collapse.
