Bhangraman Fights the Evil Morris Dancers
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
A plumber busy with a leaky radiator hears the cries of townspeople being wrapped up in ribbons by a mysterious new menace. Transformed into Bhangraman, a caped hero who speaks only Punjabi, he follows the trail of ribbons and recognises the handiwork of his arch-enemy, the Evil Morris Dancer. In a car park the villain and his troupe gloat over their raid on the village post office, until Bhangraman takes them on in a dance-off where his bhangra moves overpower their handkerchief-waving routine. With the Morris men bound to their own maypole, the grateful townsfolk thank their rescuer for sparing them a future of old-fashioned folk dancing.
The funny people
Meet the cast. 2
Say it with us
Highly quotable.
Just shy of £300 from the village post office. Tomorrow, the world!
You foiled the evil Morris Dancer and saved us from a future of performing ridiculous, outmoded folk dance routines.
A little extra
Notes from the archive.
Bhangraman speaks only Punjabi, yet everyone around him understands him perfectly; the Morris Dancer is his recurring supervillain arch-rival.
The rabbit hole continues
One more couldn’t hurt.
