The premise

Here’s the bit.

The Coopers welcome the Robinsons to a garden barbecue, where both couples compete to demonstrate their English manners. Polite talk of the weather and a song lyric conceal their shaky grasp of the customs they claim as their own. When the Coopers’ son Sebastian returns from India, he proudly embraces the family’s heritage and questions the performance around him. His inspection of the drinks and barbecue reveals that the elaborate hospitality has overlooked the basics.
