The premise
Here’s the bit.
A solemn announcer, over drifting clouds, a starfield and a photo of a newborn, again presents Negrodamus as the one man people have turned to for centuries for answers to life's great mysteries. Standing in his feathered hat and satin cape before a glowing backdrop bearing his name, Negrodamus picks questioners from the studio audience. A bald young man asks whether Arsenio Hall will ever host another show, and the prophet describes a program for black viewers whose title and time slot contradict each other. A woman greeting him from France asks in French whether Arnold Schwarzenegger will stay married to Maria Shriver, and he foretells a new marriage built around a pun on the governor's surname. A heavyset man in a turtleneck asks why white people love Wayne Brady so much, and Negrodamus answers by ranking him against two other famous black men. The announcer's opening line returns over the closing title card.
