The premise
Here’s the bit.
From the studio stage, Dave Chappelle complains that rappers only ever cast him in their videos as the clown who slips and lands in something nasty while the star struts away in slow motion, and he wants to be the slow-motion guy for once. To prove that everything looks better that way, he rolls footage of himself doing laundry at real speed, an awkward and forgettable errand, and then the same trip slowed down, where it turns into a sultry music-video fantasy. He repeats the experiment with a night at a club: at normal speed it is a crush of shoving, spilled drinks and rejection, but in slow motion it becomes a glamorous party full of dancing and beautiful women. Finally he admits the trick has limits and shows a clip of himself on the toilet, which only looks worse when it is slowed down.
