Hair Elastic Fight

Heading to the gym over lunch, Steph (Jennifer Whalen) asks her desk neighbour Abby (Meredith MacNeill) for a hair elastic and points out the one sitting unused on her wrist. Abby refuses, explaining that it is the only one she owns, and describes the tender routine she shares with it from bedtime to morning. Steph's offers to replace it, or to buy a whole pack, only deepen Abby's horror, especially once a rubber band is suggested, and the dispute turns into a tug-of-war across the cubicles. When the beloved elastic finally snaps, Abby collapses into grief, lays its remains to rest on the office carpet and dramatically joins it.
