Relatable
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
Sitting at the kitchen table, Broden and Mark launch into a bouncy rap celebrating everyday frustrations that anyone would recognise, from over-buying groceries you already own to the circular logic of a forgotten email password and a coffee order claimed by a stranger with the same name. Each verse lands with on-screen captions and a big chorus of agreement. Then Baron Gabriel de Franc, a powdered French aristocrat, starts adding verses of his own about mismatched wines at a chateau and revolutionary barricades making him late for haute cuisine, and the pair awkwardly admit they cannot relate. The Baron finally explains how he stepped through a strange light in 1832 into their house, where men were singing, and joined the song though he can never go home. The duo are stumped until he offers one genuinely universal embarrassment, which wins them over.
