The premise

Here’s the bit.

With a spare room to fill after evicting their talking dishwasher, Broden, Zach and Mark sit behind a table and interview would-be housemates in rapid succession. Every applicant is announced by a one-line description and then lives up to it in seconds: a dust-covered drifter, a nervous motivational speaker, a camouflaged Santa, a chameleon-powered superhero, a stoned judge, a puppet comedian who keeps returning with a plush dog and a plant, and a would-be stand-up whose first open mic is drowned out by coworkers. The trio barely react to a gun-waving cowboy but perk up at the rhyming Cowdoy, before the evicted dishwasher tries to sneak back in wearing a fake moustache.

The people who made it.

A little extra

Notes from the archive.

Australian puppet comedian Randy Feltface, performed by Heath McIvor, appears as himself among the applicants. Cowdoy, one of the candidates interviewed here, turns out to be the housemate the trio choose by the end of the episode.

The rabbit hole continues
