The Mange-Her

Priscilla, Hannah and Joanna set out for Bethlehem after the Three Wise Men leave without them, fretting that their makeshift gifts of mouldy food, homemade incense and a mangy pelt will look cheap next to gold, frankincense and myrrh. Along the way Hannah learns, to her friends' disbelief, that nobody else pays for water. When they reach the manger, Balthasar, Melchior and Gaspar boast about seeing the baby first and admit they hid the location to keep the women from winning. Mary Magdalene then arrives in perfume to charm the Wise Men, trades barbs with the ladies, bonds with Hannah over their shared profession and blocks their way to the crib, before promising them a spot on the dirt floor once the newborn wakes from his nap.

HBO Max released the full sketch on YouTube on April 9, 2023, as a first look at the fourth season, five days before the season premiered.
