Duet: What the Undead Will Do for Brains
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
Aisha Tyler sets up a round of Duet for Wayne Brady and Gary Anthony Williams, with Laura Hall and Linda Taylor providing the music, and welcomes iZombie star Malcolm Goodwin as the evening's guest. Before the song, the three men joke about how unusual their line-up is for the show, and Wayne asks Malcolm for his best line for chatting up a zombie at a club, which Malcolm delivers in a hungry moan. Tyler calls for party music, and Wayne and Gary trade verses about prowling a zombie nightclub, working in brain-anatomy wordplay and calling each other out for rhymes that do not land, while Malcolm dances between them and the song builds to a chant about brains.

Notes from the archive.
Guest Malcolm Goodwin was then starring as Detective Clive Babineaux in The CW's zombie crime series iZombie, which inspired the song's theme. The episode's closing credits continued the joke, casting Ryan, Colin and Gary as zombies helping detectives Malcolm and Wayne solve crimes.
