The premise

Here’s the bit.

Two earnest singers introduce a ballad about a great folk hero, a gay frontiersman in a coonskin cap. He helps a boy whose puppy is hungry by suggesting puppy food, then talks a grim gunfighter out of shooting his way past an army of besiegers by proposing they negotiate instead. When two rednecks corner him, he ducks so their punches land on each other and flees across the globe, racing past famous landmarks as the singers urge him on and bid him farewell.

Highly quotable.

Why not try feeding it puppy food?

Gotta be hitching a ride on the wind.

Have you ever thought of talking to them?

A little extra

Notes from the archive.

KITHfan.org lists the Gunfighter as a recurring Dave Foley character, also seen in "Hired Gun Concession Stand" and "The Gunfighter."
