The premise

Here’s the bit.

At a book signing, Victor Henshaw prepares to enjoy his latest literary honor and an interview for the evening news. Alice Portnoy arrives to collect money for the Fireside Girls, then discovers that the author values discretion more highly than charity. Her knowledge of his private life and the holes in his mystery novel turns a small donation into an increasingly expensive negotiation, with his television appearance hanging in the balance.
