A Stairway Chase

A police officer pursues a fleeing man into a building and up its stairwell. Their dramatic exchange of gunfire quickly gives way to aching legs, improvised stretches and increasingly desperate attempts to keep climbing. An adrenaline shot briefly revives the chase, but neither man can sustain the pace. The officer overtakes his quarry without noticing, and a fall down the stairs leaves them negotiating a much slower end to the pursuit.
