The premise

Here’s the bit.

Jason and Jeremy arrive late to the open-casket viewing of their friend Matt, exchange a few awkward words with the reverend and settle in to say goodbye. Then Jeremy spots his engraved watch on the body, and the casket turns out to be a hiding place for a growing pile of the friends' missing belongings, from a toy pony and a Jar Jar Binks figure to the credit card that apparently paid for the coffin and a photo of Jason's girlfriend. Each discovery deepens their outrage at a man they thought they knew, and the haul soon grows absurd with the Declaration of Independence, a Ghost Rider poster and a treasure map. When Matt's mother finds her family's heirloom earrings among his things, the friends try to shield her from the truth, only for the reverend to recognise his own Purple Heart. Reconciled to their friend's strange legacy, the pair decide the best tribute is to go hunting for the treasure.

Highly quotable.

I swear I saw him smirk from the grave.

Is that my Purple Heart?

It's what Matt would have wanted.

A little extra

Notes from the archive.

The official Studio C upload ends with a short subscribe tag in which Jason Gray and Jeremy Warner, still beside the casket, find that their late friend has subscribed and posted their private details, before Matt Meese sits up and they flee from a zombie.
