The premise

Here’s the bit.

A calm commentator narrates the final table of a million-dollar Texas Hold’em championship, taking the players’ blank expressions as evidence of steely calculation. Inside their heads, Jason desperately needs the winnings, Mallory talks herself into ever more aggressive confidence, Jeremy struggles to survive the tension, and Matt simply copies the bets without understanding poker. Each round raises the stakes until the showdown exposes the gulf between their composed appearance and what has actually been happening.
