The premise

Here’s the bit.

A house-rental dispute lands Ethan Vandermark before Judge Marshall T. Boudreaux in Bangor, Maine. The plaintiff, bailiff and judge treat their New England court as Cajun country, leaving Ethan increasingly bewildered. A largely incomprehensible congressman joins the proceedings while objections about geography prompt ever stranger explanations. The judge eventually replaces legal reasoning with a punishment involving fiery jambalaya, and the courtroom gives way to a musical celebration.
