The setup

Lorne Michaels and Tim Meadows explain why SNL won't parody The Blair Witch Project, but their charitable alternative keeps looking suspiciously familiar.

The premise

Here’s the bit.

Presenting a solemn announcement from Lorne's office, Lorne Michaels and Tim Meadows say they have abandoned an overused movie spoof in favor of sponsoring an Ethiopian child. Heather Graham joins them to praise the project, but every supposedly sincere piece of supporting footage borrows the horror film's camera tricks. Their increasingly elaborate denials turn the charity pitch into the very parody they insist they aren't making.
