Mr. Cabelli visits a jewelry counter to find a pinky ring with the right presence. The clerk offers several styles, but every fitting becomes a prolonged rehearsal of gestures and imaginary confrontations. Attempts to wrap up the sale keep colliding with the customer’s need to finish testing his performance.
