The premise
Here’s the bit.
Jerry and his wife welcome friends to their new home, but Jerry’s inability to judge distances makes serving dinner an ordeal. A cigarette lighter, a bread roll and a glance out the window all become hazards. When Brenda arrives with her boyfriend Gary, Jerry assumes the other end of the table is too far away to hear his insulting remarks and embarrassing admission. His attempt to guide a moving truck ends the evening with a crash.
