Sinkles
The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
Framed as a polished commercial, the sketch opens on a man too tired to cook or set a table, gnawing at whatever is in the fridge while hunched over his kitchen sink. A suited spokesman then unveils Sinkles, a restaurant on Glisan Street where every diner gets a private counter with a working sink, a menu of sad pantry odds and ends brought out all at once, and an ambience recreated from a silent kitchen and a humming refrigerator. Customers wolf down cold leftovers side by side without acknowledging one another, and the ad closes by teasing an even bleaker follow-up concept.
The funny people

Say it with us
Highly quotable.
Tables are built for one person at a time: you.
And for dessert, peanut clusters from a gift basket.
And coming soon, garbage meals.
A little extra
Notes from the archive.
IFC posted the Sinkles ad online on February 14, 2018, and Slate covered it the next day as a Valentine's Day pitch aimed at people dining alone.
The rabbit hole continues
One more couldn’t hurt.
