The setup
The premise
Here’s the bit.
Allison DuBois dreams of a frightened Korean man who begs for help because he is about to be murdered. He speaks little English, so Bae Sung steps in to translate, and every message comes out as baffling non sequiturs. When Allison takes the vision to the police chief, he waves it away with a story about his own food-induced nightmare and shows her out. Back in the dream she learns only that the killing will happen at a warehouse before the translation collapses again. Soon the man is found shot dead at a warehouse, and while Allison complains that an irritating translator cost him his life, the police introduce their top crime scene investigator, Dr. Bae Sung, whose crisp forensic report ends in more nonsense. Allison then wakes in bed, relieved it was only a nightmare, until she turns to hold her husband and finds Bae Sung beside her.

Say it with us
Highly quotable.
You know, Allison, sometimes a dream is just a dream.
He was like this irritating recurring character out of a sketch show.
And as far as I can tell, his cookie remained unsucked.

You know, Allison, sometimes a dream is just a dream. Maybe you had some bad Chinese food. Once I had some bad mooshu pork, and I dreamed that I was pulling a rickshaw through warm, soft mud. I kept saying, hang on, lady, we're going for a ride. When I woke up, turns out, I just made a poo-poo in my pants. So you can see, everything has a rational explanation.
- 01:36
Allison DuBois
But... but you don't understand.

- 02:15
Allison DuBois
I came as soon as I heard. That's him. I could have saved him if it weren't for that awful translator. He was like this irritating recurring character out of a sketch show.

You.
- 02:30

- 02:36
Bae Sung
Alright, the victim had two perforating gunshot wounds. The linear track extends backwards and to the left, exiting the left parietal bone with multiple fractures on the exit side. Liberty puts time of death at around 9 p.m. And as far as I can tell, his cookie remained unsucked.
- 02:53
Allison DuBois ?
What are you doing? What is it? I oh thank god oh baby i just had the worst nightmare just want to hold you. oh What's that?
- 03:13
Bae Sung
